Hi, I'm Sanjay!

I’m a product manager with over 2 years of professional experience. I have a strong technical background and began my career as a software engineer after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. My interests lie at the intersection of business and technology. I’m passionate about building excellent products and fostering outstanding user experiences.

I’m currently at IBM building cybersecurity and cloud-native offerings for IBM’s high-performance database and transaction management system used by 70% of Fortune 500 companies to reach billions of customers.

Work Experience

I manage IMS’s infrastructure team where my focus is on building cybersecurity, scalability, and reliability offerings. I also manage IMS’s cloud-native team which is creating IMS containers and enabling orchestration through the open source Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes platform to provide a cloud-native development experience for our clients.
  • My responsibilities include:
    • Crafting a vision and product roadmap for IMS’s infrastructure and cloud-native teams.
    • Working with clients and ISVs to understand pain points and identify areas of high-value for product investment.
    • Creating go-to-market strategies to bring market awareness for new product launches and feature enhancements.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams of software engineers, product designers, & software architects in an agile environment to plan, prioritize, and deliver valuable products to our clients.
  • Notable accomplishments:
    • OSAM Encryption: Brought enhanced encryption capabilities to one of IBM’s most popular database solutions. This offering is used in production by some of the largest financial institutions and insurance companies in the world to further protect their clients’ data.
    • Data Privacy for Diagnostics: Offering to shield client-sensitive data from being included in diagnostics sent to IBM and other software vendors.
    • Workload Interaction Correlator: Revolutionary offering to revamp the landscape of performance analytics for z/OS. Workload Interaction Correlator works by providing clients with real-time performance metrics from all z/OS subsystems to allow for better analysis of performance anomalies.
    • Machine Learning: Created PoC for bringing real-time anomaly detection to the IMS transaction manager.
    • Drove initiative to sunset low-impact and low-return components of IMS in order to focus department resources on strategic plays in cloud-native space and overall product quality.

Software Engineer, IBM (April 2018 - September 2019)

  • Full-stack developer concentrating on database security and scalability for the IMS database and transaction manager.
